RRP stands for Renovation Repair and Painting. This is the EPA law that went into effect in April 22, 2010. It says that basically all renovations done in a residential house built before 1978 need to be done by an RRP-certified contractor using lead-safe work practices.
To test the areas of the house that are going to be renovated, we can use EPA -recognized test kit, the XRF gun, and ‘shoot’ the components or paint chip sampling to determine if there is lead-based paint or not. Depending on the method used, the inspection results are given to you verbally as we perform the inspection, and we follow up with a written report that is emailed to you within 2- 4 days.
